Summer League/Ladder guidelines
We will be copying the format of the SEDL run by Pickleball England- with staggered start times up 2 hours play per court.
Depending on how many players sign up..
6 players will be allocated to a session - up to 2 hours on one court.
We will use the Round Robin tool within Pickleheads to generate matchups and to record scores.
Scoring for the first round was simply first to 11 by 2, no timed games, though this may be introduced for June
Options are:
Normal scoring until win by 2 points (to 11).
Timed matches (10 minutes per round)
Rally Scoring - copying the format from KESPL but to 15 points (freeze at 13/14).
something completely different
Each month players will then either stay where they are, or move up or down a court, again depending on how many players sign up (usually top two move up, bottom two move down). League Points will be awarded depending on win percentage and points scored. Depending on how many courts participate Court 1's winner will get 10*the number of courts. Court 2's winner 10*(the number of courts-1), and so on.
Places on a court will get points for where they finish on the court e.g. with 6 courts Court 1: 1(60), 2 (57), 3(54), 4(52), 5(50), 6(48), Court 2: 1(50), 2(47), etc...
Every player that competes will get points.
We will be running a finals day - but haven't worked that out yet probably top 4 women and men would play in a similar round robin to the Winter League. There would also be a 2nd division title to play for with the top 4 women and men from the 'bottom' 2 or 3 courts playing (probably)...
